The roller bench in the inspection workshop on which braking force is measured wheel by wheel. Chapter 5 names it again and again as the alternative to the road: where a roller brake tester is used to check braking, it is checked on that bench at the same time whether each wheel brakes (art. 5.2.38), and the same sentence returns for the parking brake (art. 5.2.39). The inspector can thus see the difference in braking force between left and right without ever driving off.
