de remtrommel
REM-tro-melIPA ˈrɛmtrɔməl
mv. remtrommels
Translation
brake drum
The drum turning with the wheel, inside which the brake shoes are pressed outwards. Drum brakes often sit on the rear axle and on trailers. Because the lining inside cannot be seen, art. 5.1b.3 allows removal of wheels and brake drums where there is doubt about the attachment of the lining or about its carrier and fastening. A drum brake cools more slowly than a disc and so loses effect sooner on a long descent.
