REM-skhayfIPA ˈrɛmsxɛif

mv. remschijven

Translation

brake disc

The disc that turns with the wheel and against which the pads clamp. Art. 5.2.31 gives corrosion on the brake line or brake disc its own assessment, and art. 5.1b.3 permits removal of wheels where there is doubt about the carrier or fastening of the lining, the drum or the disc. A disc worn deeply or cracked gives vibration in the pedal and lengthens the stopping distance.
