Attack on metal by rust. The Regeling voertuigen does not reject every rust spot, but it does reject corrosion that weakens the part: load-bearing parts may not be so affected by corrosion that their stiffness is endangered (art. 5.2.3). Brake lines, brake discs and gas-carrying parts have their own provisions. At the APK this is called serious corrosion, and it is a fail point.

There is surface rust on the floor pan. Does that fail the car?
