het achterlicht

AKH-ter-likhtIPA [ˈɑxtərlɪxt]

mv. achterlichten

Translation

rear position light

A red light at the rear of the vehicle. It never burns on its own: the rear light and the rear number plate lighting must always be lit together with main beam, dipped beam, position light or fog light (art. 32(3)). Daytime running light is not in that list. A coupled trailer carries the same lights (art. 33), and a bicycle must have a red rear light (art. 35).
