Stop; give way to drivers on the intersecting road
What it means
Two obligations at once: first come to a complete standstill, then give way. The duty to stop applies even when nobody is coming.
What it requires of you
Standing still means standing still: the wheels must come to a stop. Rolling slowly through with a glance sideways is not stopping, and that is exactly what gets checked.
Where it stands
On the side road, right before the junction, usually with a stop line on the road surface. Used where visibility is poor or the situation is dangerous.

Applies to the junction it stands before.

The duty to stop applies to every driver, including the cyclist.
