A vehicle specifically built or converted for one or more persons seated in their wheelchair while the vehicle is driven on the road; in any event a special-purpose category M vehicle of classification M1 and subcategory SH counts as such (art. 1.1 Regeling voertuigen). The conversion is thus approved for driving with the wheelchair aboard. Wheelchair and occupant each have their own restraint: securing the chair alone is not enough.
