Translation
advance indication
A sign announcing what lies ahead, without ordering or forbidding anything on the spot. Annex 1 has two of them in chapter L: sign L9 announces a dead-end road and sign L10 a traffic measure for the direction indicated. The distinction is that an advance indication lets you choose while choosing is still possible; the sign at the measure itself no longer does. Read an advance indication as a ban and you brake or steer too early — ignore it and you meet a closed or dead-end road further on.
