The whole of steering wheel, column, gear and rods by which the steered wheels are aimed. Art. 5.2.29 sets the requirements: the steered wheels must follow the steering movements, play is judged with the power steering switched off, and the wheel is moved left and right with short firm movements. Windscreens and fairings may not hinder the operation of the steering (art. 5.4.41 for motorcycles).
