Translation
stop signal
The sign by which an authorised person obliges you to stop. Art. 83 RVV 1990 describes it as a red lamp, or an illuminated panel fitted to a police vehicle or to a vehicle of Rijkswaterstaat road inspectors in which the words “stop” or “stop politie” are lit in red letters against a dark background. In addition art. 82 paragraph 4 requires stopping when an attendant of a rail vehicle shows a stop signal to model F10 of annex 1, a red flag or a red lamp.
