de strooiwagen
STROH-ee-vaa-khenIPA [ˈstroːiʋaːɣə(n)]
mv. strooiwagens
Translation
gritter
A vehicle that spreads salt or grit against slipperiness. Drivers of motor vehicles used for designated works carry, in the circumstances specified, a yellow or green rotating, flashing or blinking light (art. 30). That yellow light warns and grants no priority: only a blue beacon with a two-tone horn makes a priority vehicle (art. 29). Stay well back, because grit bounces up and the road surface ahead of the vehicle has not been treated yet.
