Translation
centre-axle trailer
A trailer whose axle or axles lie, when evenly loaded, close to the centre of gravity, so that a static vertical load of at most 10% of the technically permissible maximum mass or of 1,000 kg, whichever is lower, is transferred to the towing vehicle (art. 1.1 Regeling voertuigen). This is the ordinary luggage trailer behind a car. Load too far forward and the noseweight becomes too high; too far back and the trailer starts to snake.
