de geleider

khe-LAY-derIPA [ɣəˈlɛidər]

mv. geleiders

Translation

handler of draught animals or cattle

Someone leading riding or draught animals or cattle along the road without riding them. Annex 1 names the handler expressly: sign C1 closes the road in both directions to vehicles, riders and handlers of riding or draught animals or cattle, sign C2 does the same in one direction, and sign C9 excludes riders and cattle among others. Art. 36 requires riders and handlers of riding or draught animals and cattle to light up by day in poor visibility. Art. 51 lid 1 forbids letting riding or draught animals or cattle roam unsupervised on the road, so an animal always belongs to someone.
