H02
End of built-up area
What it means
The built-up area ends here. From this sign the speeds and rules for outside built-up areas apply.
What it requires of you
The sign raises nothing by itself. On an ordinary road outside the area the default is 80 km/h; on an expressway 100, and on a motorway whatever the sign or gantry shows. Which of the three applies you read from signs G1 or G3, not from this one.
Where it stands
At the boundary of the built-up area, usually on the back of the H1 sign facing the other way.
How far it applies
Terminates the effect of sign H1.
Who it applies to
bestuurdermotorvoertuig
Do not confuse it with
- H01
H1 begins the area, H2 ends it; the difference is the red diagonal stripe.
