C02

One-way street, closed in this direction

What it means

You may not enter from this side. From the other side the same road is open — sign C3 or C4 stands there.

What it requires of you

It is about direction, not the road. Whoever sees the sign may not enter; whoever sees its back is driving legally. Pedestrians, and anyone wheeling a bicycle, fall outside the prohibition.

Where it stands

At the end of a one-way street, facing the traffic that may not enter.

How far it applies

Applies from the sign until the end of the road or until a sign that lifts it.

Who it applies to

Do not confuse it with

  • C03

C2 forbids entry; C3 tells you that you are on a one-way street and in which direction.
