A03
Maximum speed on an electronic gantry sign
What it means
The same obligation as A1, but shown on a matrix panel above the road. Used to steer the speed per lane and per moment.
What it requires of you
If a normal roadside sign shows something different from the gantry sign, the LOWER of the two applies — art. 63b(2). The electronic sign therefore does not win automatically; the lower figure wins.
Where it stands
Above the carriageway, usually per lane, on motorways and expressways.
How far it applies
Applies to the lane it hangs above, until the next gantry.
