Translation

road marking

Every marking laid on the road surface: continuous and broken lines, edge lines, shark teeth, stop lines, block markings, arrows, hatched areas and nose markings. Markings are road signs and not decoration: art. 62 obliges road users to obey signs containing an order or a ban, and art. 63 lets road signs prevail over traffic rules. Within markings there is a rank of their own: temporary markings on the road surface prevail over the other markings on the road surface (art. 63a), so at road works yellow lines displace white ones. Drivers may not use hatched areas and nose markings (art. 77 lid 1).
