het voetpad
FOOT-patIPA [ˈvutpɑt]
mv. voetpaden
Translation
footpath
A path meant only for pedestrians, indicated by sign G7 and ended by sign G8. Art. 4 lid 1 says pedestrians use the pavement or the footpath: the law names them side by side, because a pavement belongs to the road while a footpath lies apart from it. Drivers of a disabled person vehicle may use the footpath (art. 7), and moped riders holding a disabled parking card under the conditions of art. 5. Other traffic does not belong there: sign C16 shuts pedestrians out, while sign G7 shuts every other road user out.
