Right of withdrawal

Fourteen days to change your mind
You buy a service from us: access to Wegkompas for a fixed period (art. 6:230g(1)(d) Dutch Civil Code, BW). As a consumer you have a fourteen-day cooling-off period, counted from the day after the order (art. 6:230o(1)(a) BW). Within that period you may dissolve the contract without giving a reason.
Start now or after the cooling-off period
On the order page you choose when your access starts. For that there is an optional box (Dutch original, then translation):
«Ik verzoek uitdrukkelijk dat de dienst tijdens de bedenktijd begint en verklaar dat ik afstand doe van mijn herroepingsrecht zodra de dienst volledig is uitgevoerd; bij herroeping voor die tijd betaal ik een evenredig deel.»
“I expressly request that the service begins during the cooling-off period and declare that I waive my right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed; if I withdraw before then, I pay a proportionate amount.”
If you tick it, you expressly ask us to start straight away (art. 6:230v(8) BW) and your access starts right after payment. Your right of withdrawal remains until the service has been fully performed, that is until the end of your access period, but never longer than the fourteen-day cooling-off period. After that it lapses (art. 6:230p(d) BW).
If you do not tick it, your access starts at 00:00 (Dutch time) on the fifteenth day after the day you paid — so only once the cooling-off period is over. Until then nothing has been provided, and if you withdraw you get the full amount back.
If a period you bought earlier is still running, the new one follows on from it, with or without the box.
What you pay if you withdraw after an immediate start
If you asked for an immediate start and then withdraw within the cooling-off period, you pay an amount proportionate to the part of the service already provided (art. 6:230s(4) BW). We calculate by time: the time elapsed in your access period divided by the whole duration, times the price. If your period follows on from one you bought earlier, we count from the start of the new period; if it has not started yet, you pay nothing. We round in your favour.
Example: a week costs € 9.99. If you withdraw after two days, you pay 2/7, € 2.85, and get € 7.14 back. For a thirty-one-day package withdrawn after five days, you pay 5/31 of the price.
If you did not ask for an immediate start, you pay nothing when you withdraw (art. 6:230s(5)(a) BW).
How to withdraw
Choose whatever is easiest for you:
- online, via Withdraw from the contract;
- by e-mail to the address at the bottom of this page, in Who we are;
- with the statutory model withdrawal form. The form is not required (art. 6:230o(3) BW), but we provide it as art. 6:230m(1)(h) BW requires.
If you withdraw online, we confirm receipt without delay by e-mail, with the content of your statement and the date and time you submitted it (art. 6:230oa(4) BW).
If you withdraw by e-mail or with the form, we confirm receipt by e-mail.
Refund
We refund without delay and at the latest within fourteen days of the day we receive your withdrawal (art. 6:230r(1) BW). We use the same means of payment you paid with, unless you expressly agree to something else; this costs you nothing (art. 6:230r(2) BW). After the withdrawal your access ends.
What we record
For every consent we record exactly what it said, when you agreed and which version of the terms applied. Without that record we could not show later that you expressly asked for an immediate start.
