G05
Living zone
What it means
From this sign the living-zone regime applies: drive at walking pace, pedestrians may use the full width of the road, and parking is allowed only in marked places.
What it requires of you
"Stapvoets" is no figure in the law: it means no faster than someone walking, in practice about 15 km/h. Children may play on the carriageway here.
Where it stands
At the entrance to the residential area.
How far it applies
Applies until sign G6.
Who it applies to
bestuurdervoetganger
Do not confuse it with
- H01
A built-up area (H1) is a far larger zone at 50 km/h; a living zone is a small area at walking pace.
