de zijweg
ZAY-vekhIPA [ˈzɛiʋɛx]
mv. zijwegen
Translation
side road
A road that joins another without crossing it — the branch of a T-junction. Signs B3 to B6 show whether the side road lies left or right and which road has priority. Without signs and without shark teeth it is an equal junction: drivers from the right go first, even when the side road looks smaller.
How it sounds in the exam
Er staan geen borden bij een zijweg rechts. Wie gaat voor?
There are no signs at a side road on the right. Who goes first?
