The everyday word for a vrachtauto. The rules hang on the legal term: a vrachtauto is a motor vehicle not fitted out for carrying persons and whose permitted maximum mass exceeds 3500 kg (art. 1); below that mass it is a bestelauto. Trucks have a special maximum speed of 80 km/h, on the motorway too (art. 22), and on a carriageway with three or more lanes they may use only the two rightmost lanes, except to get into position (art. 43).
