Translation
device for indirect vision
A device for observing the area adjacent to the vehicle that cannot be seen directly, being a mirror, a camera monitor or another device giving the driver information about the indirect field of vision (art. 1.1 Regeling voertuigen). The law thus expressly names the camera system too: modern lorries have screens instead of mirrors. What they do not remove is the blind spot itself; the shoulder check remains necessary.
How it sounds in the exam
Een vrachtauto heeft camera’s in plaats van spiegels. Vervalt de dode hoek dan?
A lorry has cameras instead of mirrors. Does the blind spot then disappear?
