de voorwegwijzer
FOHR-vekh-vay-zerIPA [ˈvoːrʋɛxʋɛizər]
mv. voorwegwijzers
Translation
advance direction sign
A direction sign announcing a turn or an exit well in advance, with a distance figure, an exit number and the destinations that direction serves. In chapter K of annex 1 these are among others signs K2, K5, K9 and K10; sign K10 stands inside the built-up area. The advance sign is the moment to change lanes, because at the decision sign there is no room left for it. It informs, but it settles neither priority nor speed.
