het oogcontact
OHKH-kon-taktIPA [ˈoːxkɔntɑkt]
Translation
eye contact
Looking at each other to know that you have been seen. It is a means of removing doubt with cyclists, pedestrians and drivers waiting for you, and nothing more: it does not move priority. Whoever must give way still must, even after a nod (art. 15), and whoever performs a special manoeuvre must let all other traffic go first (art. 54). If you get no eye contact, assume you have not been seen.
