de airbag

AIR-bekIPA [ˈɛrbɛk]

mv. airbags

Translation

airbag

A cushion that inflates within milliseconds in a crash and spreads the impact over a larger area. It does not replace the seat belt but supplements it: without a belt you slide past or into it and the airbag itself becomes dangerous. A rear-facing child seat must never sit in a position with an active front airbag — switch it off or put the seat in the back.

How it sounds in the exam

Mag een naar achteren gericht kinderzitje voorin met een actieve airbag?

May a rear-facing child seat go in front with an active airbag?
