het rijstrookpaneel
RAY-strohk-pa-naylIPA [ˈrɛistroːkpaːˌneːl]
mv. rijstrookpanelen
Translation
lane panel
Part of a high direction sign above the carriageway showing where that particular lane leads; sign K4 shows a lane panel for the through direction next to a branch panel for the exiting direction. The panel hangs directly above the lane it concerns, and that is exactly the difference from a sign at the roadside. Do not confuse it with the matrix sign: that one gives orders and bans per lane and therefore binds, while the lane panel only informs. That a traffic sign may be limited to a single lane follows from art. 65 lid 1.
