mv. katalysatoren

Translation

catalytic converter

A part in the exhaust system that converts harmful gases into less harmful ones. The exhaust gases of a petrol car may not, at idling speed and with the engine at operating temperature, contain more than the prescribed volume percentage of carbon monoxide, and a car with a catalytic converter and a lambda sensor must additionally meet a requirement on its emission control system (Regeling voertuigen, art. 5.2.11). Cold it barely works: short trips pollute the most.
