Translation

St Andrew’s cross

The diagonal cross just before a level crossing. Bijlage 1 knows two forms: sign J12 for a crossing with a single track and sign J13 for a crossing with two or more tracks. The RVV hangs its whole definition on it: a level crossing is a crossing of a road and a railway indicated by sign J12 or J13 (art. 1). Two bars warn that a second train may follow the first. You may enter only if you can carry straight on and clear the crossing entirely (art. 15a). A tram crossing has its own sign, J14.
